David and Krista work with all types of endurance athletes drawing on experiences with more than 100 triathlons plus other accomplishments including dozens of marathons, adventure races, cross country ski marathons and other endurance events like hiking the Swiss Alps and completing the weeklong Special Operations Force Academy.
4. Do we meet in person, talk over the phone, communicate via email?
It's entirely up to you. You have the flexibility to choose whatever format works best for you. Some clients prefer to meet face-to-face (Boulder, CO) but most will communicate primarily via phone or email.
5. Is there a set format to follow?
No. Many of ours clients have specific questions such as planning a triathlon season; choosing a triathlon bike; tapering for an Ironman, developing a race day strategy; whatever. . . . they just don’t know how to go about it. They want and need a coach to “tell them what to do." Other clients need a coach to help them figure out the answers to the questions they don't even know to ask. Each session is adaptable to your unique needs and questions.
6. Do we need to schedule our time together?
If you want to work in person or want a phone appointment at a specific time then you will need to contact your coach in advance via email or phone to arrange a scheduled appointment.
Otherwise, you are welcome to just email or call your coach. He or she will get back to you with answers and recommendations.
7. Can I send my coach my training plan to evaluate or ask him or her to write a training plan for me?
Absolutely. Many clients value David and Krista's ability to craft training plans from scratch that puts them on the path to success. We don't just give you a "cookie cutter" schedule. We add our own experiences, observations and wisdom to customize a plan to your unique abilities, experiences, constraints and goals.
8. How long does it take my coach to get back to me to review a training plan?
If your request can be handled within 24 hours, it will be. If the scope of the work you have submitted is more complex and will take longer than 2 hours of on-the-clock time, your coach will email an estimate of the time it will take to complete your request for your approval before he proceeds.
9. How much lead time does my coach need to prepare for a phone or in-person appointment?
Please submit your questions and material at least 48 hours in advance of a scheduled appointment to ensure that your coach will have enough time to apply his experience and wisdom to your questions and prepare appropriate recommendations to ensure that you make the most of your time together.
10. Can I obtain more time with my coach if needed?
Absoutely. You are welcome to purchase another consulting session at any time.
